Jonathan Haagen is a social media analyst and feature writer for the Economist Intelligence Unit – the world leader in global business intelligence.
Jonathan writes extensively about online trends and innovations, the impact of social media on social interaction, and media regulations in China – soon to be home to the largest number of internet users in the world.
Jonathan is a regular contributor to the Far Eastern Economic Review, China International Business, China Daily, and Newsweek International. His column exploring China’s dynamically changing society (both on and off-line) appears in City Weekend.
Jonathan is the Chief Editor for the upcoming Fodor’s Guide to Beijing, for which he also authored the "Olympic" Chapter. He wrote the “Business and Work” chapter for the Immersion Guide to Beijing, and several chapters for the about-to-be released Explorer’s Guide to Beijing.
Jonathan’s first book Climbing Strange Mountain was published in 2006. He graduated with Honors in History from Wesleyan University in 2003.
